"GREATEST INVENTION SINCE INDOOR PLUMBING"

Shouldn't your home or office be automatically protected from its own plumbing?

WaterCop WaterCopTM  is a wireless leak detection and automatic shut-off system designed to help protect  residential and commercial properties against water damage caused by common plumbing leaks.    Simply put, it is an automatic valve for your water supply line(s) that protects your property 24 hours per day 365 days a year!  WaterCop has the ability to be easily integrated into your home security or home automation system giving you added control and peace of mind. Smart devices and appliances are becoming commonplace in today's modern homes and offices.

The WaterCop Story

WaterCop is made by one of the largest industrial water valve manufacturers in the USA.  Development began several years ago after the manufacturer's son took a vacation.

  • The Plan:  A relaxing vacation at his father's Southern vacation home
  • The Reality:  A vacation spent with insurance adjusters and contractors
  • The Reason:  A water heater failure compounded by a floor drain clogged by insect nests that caused water to run continuously and to back up in the home.
  • The Result:  The Dynaquip engineers took on a new project, the WaterCop!

How does it work?

Well it's simple really!  Your trusty friend WaterCop and his faithful partners the WaterHounds work together to protect your property from water damage that can be caused by leaks in your plumbing system.  When installed properly and regularly maintained the WaterCop and WaterHound team will work behind the scenes to monitor your property for water leakage at specific and predetermined locations.  When any strategically placed WaterHound detects moisture where it is not supposed to be, it will immediately send a wireless signal to the WaterCop control unit telling WaterCop to turn off the water supply.

It could be 3am, you could be home or away on vacation, it could be a little leak or a real "gusher", the WaterCop team works 24 hours a day, 365 days a year protecting your property from water damage caused by most plumbing leaks.

"I returned from a two-week trip to London on business.  Great trip, but I was glad to be home.  When I went to wash up I noticed the water wasn't running.  A quick trip to the utility room told me why.  My washer hose had sprung a leak.  If I hadn't had the WaterCop, most of the contents of my forty-gallon hot water heater would have poured out.  The electric valve shut off the water supply so the tank didn't continuously refill and result in an overflow and an expensive bill for cleanup, wasted gas ... or maybe even an explosion from the gas buildup."

Every Year more than 250,000 families have their homes ruined and their lives overturned by water damage and the subsequent repairs.  Some of the leading causes of water damage range from broken and frozen pipes to leaky appliances.  Approximately 5 million water heaters, another notorious culprit, rupture on an annual basis.  It is estimated that washing machine hose failures alone account for more than $150 million worth of damage each year to homes in the United States and Canada.

"I was out in my backyard working in my garden, when I went into the house I found over a foot of water in my newly finished basement family room.  We could not find the shut-off valve right away and when we did, it would not turn.  We called the water department, 30 minutes later they shut the water off in the street.  By this time my big screen television was almost floating..."
"We were within 150 feet of our house the whole time...but we had no idea that a pipe had burst, thank God we were not out of the house any longer...."  "$75,00 worth of damage and it could have been worse."

The Wall Street Journal has featured several articles about cancellations of homeowners insurance.  Insurance claims, especially plumbing related, can cause cancellation of insurance sometimes making a house uninsurable.  Allied/Nationwide amended a homeowner's policy to put a $10,000 cap on mold and mildew litigation.  A recent customer noted $36,000 worth of damage due to a leaking refrigerator water dispenser.  Another customer's damage from a slowly leaking dishwasher resulted in the floor joists and most of the interior of his vacation home being removed.  With water damage accounting for upwards of 30% of all residential insurance claims - often reaching thousands of dollars each - the WaterCop essentially pays for itself with its first detection.

"...water damage is a leading source of home insurance claims.  Many insurance companies are beginning to recommend automatic valves to their homeowner customers and some may even offer discounts to people who install products like the WaterCop in their homes."

Investing in a WaterCop system is a great way to prevent water damage.
It is clearly cost effective compared to water damage nightmares and possible loss of insurance.   Your insurance company might even give you a discount - can't hurt to ask!
